Hi it's Vero! Today I will show you my favourite french films. I think that they are somewhat different to any other films, they are special. Let me know in the comments if you have seen them too!

Dans la maison
Directed by François Ozon; Starring Kristin Scott Thomas, Fabrice Luchini, Ernst Umhauer

A film about a boy who starts to tutor his classmate in Maths. He admires the boy's "perfect family" and their house. He decides to write school essays about their family, each member of it. He comes there as often as possible and gives the essays to his professor, who begins to show an interest in them. It all causes a wide variety of uncontrollable events....

Sous les jupes des filles
Directed by Audrey Dana; Starring Vanessa Paradis, Audrey Fleurot, Géraldine Nakache
A comedy/drama about a group of women living in Paris with each having their own problems with work, career, friendships, love and with what they want. A good, easy-going film to watch!

Poulet aux prunes
Directed by Marjane Satrapi, Vincent Paronnaud; Starring Mathieu Almaric, Jamel Debbouze
A film about a violin virtuoso whose violin is destroyed one day, and because he can't find another violin to be satisfied with, he decides to die. He lays in bed and recalls his often humorous life full of funny and sad moments.

Paris, je t'aime
Starring Natalie Portman, Margo Martindale, Fanny Ardant
A film composed of several different stories. They all take place in the city of love, Paris. A great and unique film!

Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain
Directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet; Staring Audrey Tatou, Mathieu Kassovitz, Jamel Debbouze, Clotilde Mollet
In my opinion, this is the best film in the world! It's magical, moving, out of this world, beautiful. A girl named Amélie lives in a Paris quarter Montmartre and works in a local bistro. One day she decides to help people around her. And in the end, she finds her happiness too! It's a really charming film about les petit plaisirs, it's all interlaced with small coincidences, life truths and little stories. Simply enchanting!

LOL (Laughing Out Loud) ®
Directed by Lisa Azuelos, Delgado Nans; Starring Christa Theret, Jérémy Kapone, Lou Lesage, Sophie Marceau
A romantic comedy about a group of school friends with the main characters Lola and Mael. She lives with her mom, grandmom and a little sister and she's dealing with her average problems, partly through phone messages. It's also about generational conflicts and a relationship between Lola and her mom, who is secretly the same as Lola.

Intouchables
Starring Omar Sy, François Cluzet, Clotilde Mollet
A moving film about a poor, but energetic Driss and a rich, but paralyzed and bitter Philippe. Driss becomes Philippe's guardian and gradually they create a strong bond and a strong relationship. A touchung comedy/drama!

La belle personne
Directed by Christophe Honoré; Starring Louis Garrel, Léa Seydoux, Grégoire Leprince-Ringuet
A film about a girl, Junie, who comes into a new school. It's not a comedy at all, it's a melancholic drama where all kinds of events happen.

Samba
Starring Omar Sy, Charlotte Gainsbourg
A film about Samba, who moved to France ten years ago, works ilegally and hopes he soon gets permanent residence permit. He meets Alice, a manager who works as a volunteer for immigrants. But their relationship isn't easy.

That's all! I hope I have not forgotten anything! Let me know if you know any other good french films!

xx Vero
